Bruce Morton, one of CNN's leading national correspondents, brings unparalleled professional experience to broadcast journalism. In addition to his extensive political reporting for CNN, he delivers an essay each week entitled, "The Last Word" on CNN's Late Edition with Frank Sesno. Late Edition airs Sundays from 5 - 6 p.m. (ET).
Morton, who worked at CBS News for almost 30 years, joined CNN's Washington bureau in October 1993. He has covered Vietnam, Watergate, three decades of national election campaigns and the U.S. space program from Gemini to Apollo. He holds six News and Documentary Emmy awards and a George Foster Peabody award and was a contributor to a George Polk award.
Morton joined CBS in 1964 as a Washington bureau reporter. He was named Washington correspondent for the CBS Morning News in 1974 and Washington anchor in 1975 and was a commentator for CBS Weekend News from 1990-1993.
Before joining CBS, Morton worked for ABC News in London. He graduated from Harvard University in 1952.
