Perot Embarks On Speaking Tour

[Ross Perot] COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AllPolitics, March 26) -- He says he's not a candidate, but Texas billionaire Ross Perot sure looks and sounds like one.

After appearing on all the major networks in the last several days, the colorful Texan hit the road for a campaign-style series of speaking engagements this week from Philadelphia to Texas. Reform Party national coordinator Russell Verney told the Associated Press that Perot would be "hitting every state over the next few months."

After promising to give a second candidacy "everything I have," if asked by his Reform Party, Perot has -- surprise! -- turned coy, maintaining that "this is not about me."

Oh? Who else but Perot is poised to unleash the necessary resources any third-party candidacy would require, many are asking. So far the Reform party has made it on ballots in just seven states: California, North Dakota, Utah, South Carolina, Montana, Minnesota and Virginia.
