Dornan Will Remain In GOP Race

LOS ANGELES (AllPolitics, March 27) -- Bob who? Though he won a mere one percent of the presidential vote in his homestate of California, arch-conservative Rep. Robert Dornan (R-Calif.) won't withdraw from the GOP primary race "in the near future," a Dornan aide told the Associated Press.

"He (Dornan) thinks he is affecting the message," chief of staff Paul Mero told AP. "Dornan's latest message was making sure that it's Bob Dole's team vs. Willie's (President Bill Clinton's) team."

While attracting a mere 21,180 votes in California's presidential primary Tuesday (Sen. Robert Dole got 1,477,141), the former fighter pilot stormed to a 65 percent victory in his 46th District congressional race.
