While agree that the GI bill needs updating, giving benefits after only 3 years is NOT the way to go. I spent 11 years in the Navy and feel that you earn your GI Benefits after a full 8 year contract.

I'm 100% in favor of supporting a bill that would provide total college funding for any qualified Vet, however, you're asking the wrong question. Ask the American people if they are willing to increase their taxes $200 per year to do this. I still vote YES! Clementine, Arkansas

I am a military member for 22.5 years... With regards to a full ride in college...3 years of honorable service equates to a associates degree or 2 years of college, 5 years of honorable service equates to a Bachelor degree and 10 years of honorable military service equates to a full ride college benefit program to obtain a Masters Degree.... If the member is dies while on active duty the benefits should be transferable to his/her children or dependents left behind.
